Dylan Conroy, RMA’s West Coast Head of Sales, is a LinkedIn superuser. He follows what is called an “open networking approach” to using the service, which means he’s focused on techniques that create as many connections as possible. This has created an effective tool for broadcasting and information gathering, both very useful for his specific goals as a sales guy and evangelist for RMA, but has its drawbacks – for example, most of the connections in his network are weak, not strong. Dylan’s approach isn’t for everyone. That said, his webinar below offers tips useful both to open networkers and those following a more focused approach. What’s true for Dylan and goes for everyone is that generosity is the constant hallmark of your outreach. Reach out purposefully, but generously, and success will be yours. – Keith Ferrazzi
